Dan Fouts of CBS Sports tells Grant he was sold on Baltimore as the top team in the AFC until their debacle of a loss in Jacksonville last Monday night. Fouts will be in San Francisco this weekend to broadcast the 49ers and Browns and says the Niners’ toughness is what stands out to him the most abut the team’s 5-1 start. He attributes Alex Smith’s success this year to the coaching of Jim Harbaugh and the offense finally finding a way to utilize the talent on that side of the ball – guys like Vernon Davis, Frank Gore, and multiple first-round draft picks on the offensive line. Dan also tells us at which point in the season you can truly assess whether a team is for real.
