Rangers Find 3rd Body In Yosemite's Merced River

FRESNO, Calif. (AP) — Officials have identified a body found in the Merced River last week as one of three young people swept over a waterfall in Yosemite National Park.

Meanwhile, searchers have found a third body believed to be the last missing person from July's waterfall accident.

The body of 27-year-old Ninos Yacoub was found on Nov. 29, trapped under house-sized boulders that are visible now since the water flow has slowed.

On Saturday, rangers searching the same area located a body believed to be 21-year-old Ramina Badal.

Badal, Yacoub and 22-year-old Hormiz David were swept over the 317-foot Vernal Fall after stepping into the river to pose for a photograph. David's body was located a month later.

Park spokesman Scott Gediman says searchers recently stepped up efforts when weather conditions turned favorable.
