Water Main Breaks, Flooding Backyard Of South Sacramento Home

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – City utility crews are trying to determine what caused a water main to break and flood the backyard of a south Sacramento home this morning.

Water gushed into the backyard of a home on 62nd Avenue and 21st Street for several hours this morning and eventually seeped into the home.

The homeowners are upset saying it took the city too long to respond to their call saying the water main broke at 6:30 this morning but it wasn't until just before 10 a.m. until the water was shut off.

The amount of damage done to the home was not immediately known.

It's also unclear if recent freezing temperatures contributed to the break.
