Big Rig Carrying Onions Crashes Shutting Down Placer County Highway

LINCOLN (CBS13) – A busy Placer County highway is back open this morning after a big rig crashed spilling its load of onions all over the roadway.

The crash happened around 7:30 Thursday night on Highway 65 at the 12 Bridges Drive offramp in Lincoln.

The driver apparently lost control of the rig crashing into the center divide and flipping.

The truck was carrying onions which ended up scattered across the highway.

The highway was shut down for several hours in both directions as crews cleaned up the spilled produce and removed the damage truck.

No word on any injuries this morning.
