USFS Plans Prescribed Burns This Week At Lake Tahoe

TAHOE CITY, Calif. (AP) — Forest Service crews at Lake Tahoe plan a series of prescribed fire operations this week on the lake's northwest shore.

Weather permitting, they plan to start lighting the fires around Tahoe City, Calif., as early as Tuesday morning and continue through the week.

The Forest Service says residents and visitors can expect to see smoke from the prescribed fire project area. Smoke-sensitive residents should consider staying indoors and keeping doors, windows and outside vents closed.
