Man Accused Of Stealing Toys From Charity Bin, Impersonating Officer

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — A man who allegedly took toys out of a Sacramento charity bin and then identified himself as a police officer when confronted by a store employee was arrested Wednesday, police said.

Keith Napier, 49, entered the business in the 5500 block of Stockton Boulevard on Tuesday at about 2 p.m. He reached into the bin of toys that was in the front of the business and removed a book and another toy, Sacramento police said.

He left the business and when confronted by an employee, he identified himself as a Suisun City Police Officer. He placed the stolen toys in his vehicle and fled the scene, police said. The toys were intended to go to a local charity.

Napier was arrested at about 1 a.m. on Wednesday in the 1500 block of Howe Avenue. He's charged with theft and impersonating a police officer.
