Firefighter Gets Scare During Blaze In Fair Oaks

FAIR OAKS (CBS13) - A local firefighter's mishap in Fair Oaks had fellow firefighters momentarily scrambling to help.

The incident happened at a century-old Victorian home located at Orange and Pennsylvania Avenues.

A call for mayday went over the scanner Tuesday morning after a firefighter with the Sacramento Metro Fire Department reportedly fell through some stairs at a home and was trapped. But it turns out the report was premature. The man only fell down a flight of stairs and was not hurt. He quickly got up and went back to work.

The home was being renovated at the time and suffered smoke and fire damage on the first floor and some smoke damage on the second floor.

Investigators have not released the cause of the blaze.
