Winds Expected To Give Way To Freezing Overnight Temperatures
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — The first day of winter has been a breezy one Thursday in the Sacramento Valley, but the winds are expected to die down and the temperature will drop well below freezing overnight, according to the National Weather Service.
The cold air mass combined with little to no winds in the valley will result in temperatures below 30 for several hours. A hard freeze warning is in effect from midnight through 9 a.m. Friday in the central Sacramento Valley.
A hard freeze warning means temperatures will be less than 29 degrees for three to five hours. Widespread frost will encompass most of the valley.
