The Grant Napear Show - December 26, 2011

Big day in the NBA with 12 games tonight, and it is the season opener for a lot of teams from around the league. Most importantly it is the season opener for The Sacramento Kings. After last season the Kings have found a way to stay in Sacramento and tonight the Kings will open the 2011-2012 season vs. the Lakers at home. This provided the fuel of a big show today on The Grant Napear Show. The city of Sacramento was buzzing all day in anticipation of the big game. King fan call early and often all show to talk about their Sacramento Kings. It was clear that fans are excited about this season; they cannot wait to see what this new look Kings team can do.

First on the show Jerry Reynolds stops by to talk Kings basketball. "Opening game is always a thrill. Last year was last year, and this year is this year; lets have fun with it." Reynolds went on to say, I don't know what to expect, I've watched them practice but with not having 8 pre-season games like we usually do, it is hard to say." Sharing his thoughts on Kings rookie Jimmer Fredette saying, "He has come in and has tried to fit on and has fit in. He has come to help the team win." When asked about his thought about the Lakers Jerry said, "They are going to be really good, I think they have slipped a notch, but the Kobe you will win a lot of games."

Next on the show Boomer Esiason with CBS Sports joins the show to talk all things NFL. First sharing his thoughts on the Saints, Boomer said "When they play outside the dome their defense is different, when a team like the Saints and the Packers play on the road their QB's need to be perfect." As the NFL season comes to a close talk about MVP is rising. Boomer expanded on this by saying, "last nights performance by Aaron Rodgers with 5 TD's and 0 INT;'s he seems to be the early favorite."
