Police Lift Evacuation At Walgreens After Suspicious Package Cleared

CITRUS HEIGHTS (CBS13) — Citrus Heights police detonated a suspicious package found in the parking lot of Walgreens at Greenback and Sunrise boulevards, but the items turned out to be harmless.

The Walgreens was evacuated at about 2:30 p.m. after a package was found wrapped in tin foil and beeping.

Authorities said the item turned out to be an anti-theft device used by stores.

The scene has been cleared and the evacuation lifted.
