Former Fire Fighter Accused Of Attempted Arson
NORTH SAN JUAN (CBS13) – A former firefighter has been arrested after he threw an incendiary device at a home in the Nevada County town of North San Juan, according to the Nevada County Sheriff's department.
Nevada County deputies arrested 40-year-old Keenan Mann Browning on Saturday afternoon after he allegedly harassed then threw a Molotov cocktail at the home of Tabitha Bauer, a former roommate.
Deputies were called to Bauer's home on School Street twice on Saturday. Bauer says the first time was at 9:20 a.m. when Browning trespassed on her property and drove his Harley-Davidson motorcycle in circles. He left and returned three hours later with a Molotov cocktail, which he allegedly threw at her home. The homemade bomb broke, but did not explode. Deputies found the broken bottle and a wick.
Deputies spotted Browning later in the afternoon. He refused to pull over and led deputies on a chase before being taken into custody on Tyler Foote Road.
Browning was arrested and booked into the county jail on suspicion of arson of an inhabited structure, evading a peace officer, driving on a suspended license and violating probation. He is being held without bail.
