UPDATE: Names Released In Vacaville Murder-Suicide

VACAVILLE (CBS13) — Vacaville police on Wednesday identified the man and woman who were found shot to death on Tuesday.

The suspect and victim have been identified as Erik Mesick, 47, of Vacaville and Jerrica Chou, 40, of Vallejo. The investigation is ongoing but detectives believe it was a murder-suicide.

The gruesome discovery was made at 3 p.m. in front of a home on Arroyo Court after multiple gunshots were heard in the area. The bodies of a male and a female both had gunshot wounds.

Mesick and Chou had been dating for a short time, police said. Neither had any police contacts or history of domestic violence in Vacaville.

The gun believed to be used in the crime was found at the scene and is registered to Mesick. Mesick had just purchased the handgun a few days prior to the incident, police said. Investigators believe that Mesick shot Chou once in the head and then turned the gun on himself.
