Heartbroken Young 49er Fan's Video Goes Viral

The 49ers Aren't Going to the SuperBowl by Those Guys Softball on YouTube

VACAVILLE (CBS13) – Most San Franciscans took the news of the team's loss to the New York Giants last Sunday hard but reflected on an utterly successful season and an unexpected run to the NFC title game, but one young fan was in no mood for reflection after last Sunday's loss.

He took the news of a Super Bowl without his favorite team very seriously.

Two days after the Niners lost to the Giants, Johnny was still upset and his dad was consoling him when he decided to pick up his phone and capture the tears.

"What's wrong?" Ryan Price asks his 4-year-old son. "You thought the 49ers would be in the Super Bowl?"

"Yes," Johnny nods as he sobs.

His dad said he had to capture the moment. "I was like 'oh my god, you're crying over this?' Let me get my camera and ask you a few questions," he tells CBS13.

Ryan uploaded the 49-second cell phone video on YouTube and overnight Johnny's cries for his team went viral.

"I woke up the next morning and it had a thousand (views) and I was like 'What is going on here?'" Ryan says.

In just a couple of days, the video has gotten more than 155,000 views. Even 49ers CEO Jed York has seen it and tweeted the video.

But on Sunday Ryan says it was Johnny's older sister who cried about the Giants' overtime victory. Their dad, a school teacher from Vacaville, captured that on video too.

"This is the worst day ever" Johnny's sister sobs.

Although upset, Johnny didn't cry. That is, until two days later. For some reason, his dad says it took the preschooler awhile to realize what the loss really meant.

Ryan tried to console Johnny at the end of the video, using the 49ers' rallying call coined by coach Jim Harbaugh.

"I still love you. You still love me?" he asks.

"Yeah," Johnny replies.

"Who's got it better than us?" Ryan asks.

"Nobody," Johnny manages to reply back, but his heart isn't really into it this time.
