Health Clinic Returns To Knights Landing

KNIGHTS LANDING (CBS13) – A free medical clinic has reopened in a small Yolo County town after being shuttered for several years.

Residents of Knights Landing have had to travel about 12 miles to Woodland for medical services since the clinic closed down in 2008, but the local facility reopened in a ribbon-cutting ceremony Sunday morning.

The clinic had helped less fortunate residents in Yolo County, many of whom lack any kind of health insurance, for 35 years before it was forced to close.

Patients can once again get a full checkup from volunteer physicians and UC Davis medical students and graduates every third Sunday of the month. Officials said they expect to treat about 20 patients each clinic day.
