Delta College President Placed On Administrative Leave
STOCKTON (CBS13) — Less than a year after he was selected San Joaquin Delta College's superintendent/president, Dr. Jeff Marsee was placed on paid administrative leave on Thursday by the school's board of trustees.
During a special closed-session meeting on the Stockton campus, the board voted unanimously, 7 – 0. The leave is effective immediately until further board action. The special meeting was a continuation of the board's closed-session meeting Tuesday.
Thursday's action comes after a no-confidence vote by California Teachers Association members at the college. Ninety-six percent of its members voted no confidence in Marsee, according to the union.
Marsee was named the junior college's superintendent/president on Feb. 22 after a nationwide search, according to the college. His official hire date was May 1. The school gave him a three-year contract at $235,768 annually. He was previously the superintendent/president of College of the Redwoods, a junior college in Eureka.
Dr. Kathleen Hart, the school's assistant superintendent/vice president of instructional services, , was named Delta's acting superintendent/president until further notice.
