The Grant Napear Show - February 3, 2012

Friday's show was abuzz with callers, excited about Sacramento's win the night before over Portland.

After nearly two hours of back-to-back phone calls, Coach Smart recapped last night's win against the Blazers, praising the play of John Salmons and explaining why he's showed so much patience with the veteran wing player despite his early season offensive struggles.  He also discussed Tyreke's jumper and the off-court rewards of coaching and teaching young men.

After Friday's rant, Grant hosted an open segment before Chuck Hayes joined the show to host his weekly segment. Hayes discussed his progress on rehabilitating his injured shoulder and the way the team has progressed under Keith Smart. Chuck also gave his thoughts on the productive play of Isaiah Thomas and some of the things he's learned from the savvy veterans he's played with throughout his career.

In the final hour, Kings' rookie 2nd-round pick Isaiah Thomas looked back at Thursday night's win and a big performance for himself. Thomas discussed how he's handled the adversity of already going through a coaching change less than halfway through his rookie season. The young point guard said gaining respect amongst his teammates was, more than anything, about effort.
