Man Detained After Discovery Of Body In Citrus Heights

CITRUS HEIGHTS (CBS13) – Detectives detained a suspect Friday afternoon after a neighbor discovered the body of a Citrus Heights resident inside a home.

The Citrus Heights Police Department said the male victim was found inside a home near the intersection of Auburn Boulevard and Halifax Street shortly after 11:00 a.m. Friday, and when investigators searched the scene, they found signs of a violent struggle.

Witness statements led authorities to identify a person of interest in the case, and detectives have detained the suspect and are questioning him about his potential involvement in the incident.

The identity of the victim has not been released pending notification to the next of kin.

Growing up in Citrus Heights was great back in the day. But since the late 60′s into the 70′s it started to change ….. not for the better. It has only gotten worse over time. Now I don’t think I would ever live there again. Too bad…. Lot’s of great memories growing up there.
