Man At Home With Son Shoots, Kills Robbery Suspect
ANTIOCH, Calif. (AP) — Antioch police say a man at home with his young son disarmed a would-be robber and shot the suspect to death with the suspect's own gun.
The shooting occurred around 8:20 p.m. Monday. Acting Police Lt. Diane Aguinaga says the man heard the doorbell ring at his home but did not answer. The door was then kicked open.
The man confronted the suspect, and the two struggled.
Aguinaga says the resident wrestled away the suspect's gun and shot him several times with it. He then called police.
The suspect was pronounced dead at the scene. Police are still trying to identify him.
The resident and his son have not been identified. They were not hurt.
