At around 4:30 p.m. Monday police reported the woman was involved in a traffic accident and fled the scene. Her SUV was spotted a short time later by the Woodland police chief, who started to follow it. He abandoned the chase though after the SUV accelerated to 90 mph and became too dangerous to pursue.

A short time later, the SUV apparently lost control and left the road, turned sideways and hit a tree in the front yard of a home at 1617 College St. Deltoro was trapped inside the vehicle.

The Sacramento County Coroner says autopsy results on Deltoro should be available on Wednesday.

My niece just died in a car accident 2 weeks ago too & I happen to know this family & this video is disgusting & in poor taste!! Shame on you for even posting something so damaging & hurtful!!

  • stan atkinson

    Your opinion.

  • Ebony Niemann

Ya that you guys will do anything for ratings….

  • stan atkinson

What ratings? What are you talking about?

  • stan atkinson

It became newsworthy when she fled the scene, tried to flee from cops, and then plowed the vehicle into a tree. But I guess it wouldn’t have been disgusting if that tree wasn’t there and she went through the house killing someone……….now would it?

  • Shirley

Ebony, I am really sorry for your loss. Yes when they post these videos I really think they should be more cautious. Not everyone and including the family wants to see this.

  • Life is hard when your stupid

You don’t like it, don’t watch………. Just glad the foolish woman didn’t kill someone else.

  • Rick

    Well said, stan…

  • Cal

Hit & Run suspect flees from police and dies as a direct result of her own actions???…Sounds clear to me that Vanessa Marie Darwin…OOPS! Deltoro…was a stand up citizen.

  • sactown guy

If she didnt want to become a news story she should have stopped at the scene instead of fleeing. Yes its sad for her family but there is NO ONE to blame except herself for fleeing the scene.

  • logan

Any details on what the first accident was about? Did she die over some random fender bender?

  • ReallY??

Well it sure struck a nerve with you Stan. You two must have a lot in common for you to be so offended by my comments. So, if “he” never posted here, how do you know the full extent of the conversation? Or do you just like to have something to say to everyone?

  • stan atkinson

    ReallY: polesmoker!

  • Shane

    it was only a Mexiroach.

  • WisenCynical

Poor tree.. Like this girls family family, this tree will now forever bare the blemish of this girl’s poor judgement. Someone should go give this tree a hug.

  • WisenCynical

These are hazardous energies. Girl loses control of SUV after reacting to being caught, hits a tree and dies. Journalist gets a video from some rubbernecker looking for a quick buck, posts it, we comment, and you get emotionally violated. I really have no idea where Im going with this but it seems Karmic in a way.

What a stupid way to die. Such a waste. I feel for her family. Glad no one else was hurt.
