'The Colbert Report' Abruptly Cancels Production For Rest Of The Week

LOS ANGELES (CBS) — "The Colbert Report" has cancelled production for the rest of the week due to "unforeseen reasons."

Representatives from the show sent a letter to audience members on Wednesday about the show's cancellation.

"Due to unforeseen circumstances, we have canceled our taping for the date of your ticket reservation, February 15, 2012. We are very sorry for any inconvenience. Unfortunately, we are unable to reschedule your tickets. You may make a new reservation for another date on www.colbertnation.com/tickets."

The Thursday show was also canceled, reports Digital Spy.

Comedy Central has not provided any further comment on why the shows tapings have been called off.

Stephen Colbert rarely misses tapings of the series and even hosted an episode while sick in 2010.
