The Grant Napear Show - February 16, 2012

Tuesday's city council vote to continue the quest for a Sports and Entertainment venue in Sacramento spurred a lot of conversation throughout the show from both supporters and naysayers of a new building. Grant vocally shot down talk of Seattle stealing the Kings, despite reports that the Emerald City has revealed a plan to build an arena and lure an NBA or NHL franchise.

At the end of the second hour, Coach Smart tried to shed some light on the Kings' inconsistency over the last week, specifically their poor performance Wednesday night in New York. He went on to discuss Tyreke's jumper, improving the offense, and the challenge of trying to improve at both ends of the court without one negatively affecting the other. Coach said with so much to teach the team, it makes it tough sometimes to not overload his players with teaching points.

At five o'clock, Grant took LeBron to task in his rant for vaguely hinting about a return to Cleveland.

Later, Chuck Hayes joined Grant for his weekly segment, discussing the state of his injured shoulder, the team's struggles Wednesday night in New York, and how they will attempt to bounce back for the rest of the road trip.

In the final hour, former King Jon Barry joined the show to talk about Jeremy Lin, living in Detroit, the curious absence of Monta Ellis in the fourth quarter of Wednesday's Warriors game, whether Ellis and Stephen Curry can coexist, Curry's recurring ankle issues, which one of the two he'd trade if faced with the decision, and LeBron's recent comments about possibly returning to Cleveland.
