The practice of Yoga started around 5,000 years ago in India. It is a Sanskrit word that literally means “yoke”. In yoga terms, it means to unite the mind, body, and spirit. It is not a religion, rather it is a system of postures, breathing, and meditations to improve a persons mind and body. Yoga enthusiasts are universal in their praise of the mental and physical benefits of yoga.

Sacramento and the surrounding areas are proof of the popularity of yoga. Looking for a studio? Here are some of Sacramento’s best.
