The Don Geronimo Show - February 22, 2012

Today, Don tells us that syndication in San Diego is all but a no-go, as the Program Director of the San Diego station, who apparently thinks he knows more than he really does, told Don he doesn't like the way Don talks about Sacramento so much, nor does he like the time checks, or the fact that he lets Slow Joe, Little Joe, and Craig talk on the air when they want. He also suggests to Don that if they do pick up the show in San Diego, to "talk more about San Diego, because it is a bigger market." We then hear about the mild mannered Phantom's rare outburst before the show this morning, and an interview Don will be doing with Radio Inc. about the lack of nomadic radio DJ's these days.

Little Joe brought in the Girl Scout cookies today that everybody bought, and since Don is giving those up for lent, he decides to say a prayer to God, with Slow Joe being Don's in-house stenographer for the prayer. We then hear about Jimmer Fredette's brother, who has been posting angry tweets about Jimmer not playing enough. After hearing about Janet's texts to Little Joe about keeping the Girl Scout cookies away from Don we hear C.M. Punk's hate video to Chris Brown, and Rainn Wilson's tweet about rape, which Craig finds hilarious. We also hear clips from Whitney Houston's limo driver, who said he saw Bobby Brown smoke crack, and Whitney "chain smoke joints."

President Obama hosted a blues show at the White House last night, and we hear a clip of him singing "Sweet Home Chicago," as well as a 9 year old who went on a date with Tim Tebow, and the "chocolate fountain" he took her to see. We then get a visit from our good friend Steve Bryant. Steve tells us how he's feeling after beating cancer, how hard it is to find a radio job these days, his time on the QVC, and the most ridiculous products he's ever had to sell. After Steve, we get another visit from our good pal Frank Caliendo. Frank, who will be in the studio with us next week, talks about his upcoming show at Thunder Valley, the impersonations that his fans like the most, and losing it on a referee during his son's basketball game.

After Don reads an email from a listener who can get the KHTK signal in Finland, and hearing about "Google Glasses," it's time for the "Phantom News Hour." Today, Phantom talks about the passing of pinball pioneer Steve Kordek, at 100 years old, Chris Tucker owing $12.1 million in taxes, and Adele flipping the bird while accepting an award in the U.K. And of course, Don wraps everything up with a caller 100!
