TRACY (CBS13) – Six abandoned and starving dogs found in Stanislaus County are now being cared for, thanks to an anonymous tip.
Tracy Animal Control workers found the dogs at a foreclosed duplex last week. According to the officers, one dog was found inside the building surviving on nothing but potatoes.
Two other dogs and three puppies were found in the yard. They were starving and had very little room to move.
Neighbors say it has been weeks since they’ve seen the owners.
“The dogs were kept in a very small area filled to the brim with trash and their feces had been building up,” said Beth Palacios of the Tracy Animal Shelter. “They could count their ribs at this point.”
The owner has 10 days to claim the dogs before they are put up for adoption.
