The nanny arrived at her employer's home on Fratis Street and reportedly heard a noise at the back of the residence. She called out to her employer but heard no answer. Shortly thereafter, the homeowner arrived and began checking the house.

He and the nanny then encountered the suspect, Christian Heitmeyer, 23, of Folsom, who fled out the back slider and ran from the Prairie Oaks residence, according to police.

A nearby homeowner gave chase after Heitmeyer reportedly tried to break into his home to avoid arriving police officers.

Heitmeyer was eventually captured by officers and arrested. He was booked into the Sacramento County Jail on one count of burglary and one count of attempted burglary. He is being held in lieu of $130,000 bail.
