3 Modesto Shooting Victims Identified

MODESTO (CBS13/AP) - Officers responding to a report of a shooting found a man, a woman and a teenage boy shot to death inside an east Modesto home early Saturday morning, police said.

David Siebels
David Siebels, 16, of Modesto posted this picture of himself recently on Facebook. Police identified Siebels as one of the victims in a triple homicide on Saturday, March 3, 2012.

Police identified the victims as 19-year-old Alyxandra Tellez, 31-year-old Edward Joseph Reinig, and 16-year-old David Siebels. All three victims were Modesto residents.

Johanna Rubio was friends with David. She calls him a good guy who was serious about school.

"I'm really hoping that they catch the killer," she told CBS13. "I'm hoping that he stays in prison for a pretty long time."

The circumstances that led to the shooting and a possible motive were still under investigation later in the day. But it did not appear to be a murder-suicide, and police did not believe there was an ongoing danger to the community, according to Modesto police Officer Scott Nelson.

"This was not a problem home," Nelson told the Modesto Bee.

Police were called to the house in east Modesto a little before 4 a.m. The two-story home with tan trim lies across from a Creekside Golf Course.

A fourth person inside the home reportedly called 911 and was not considered a suspect, police said.

"We're still interviewing that person, trying to still get as many details from them," Nelson said.

Nelson would not say how many shots were fired or whether the victims were struck multiple times. It was also not clear whether the victims were related, although a relative at the scene said two were related. Siebels' Facebook page lists Robert Reinig as a brother but doesn't list Edward Reinig.

A man at the scene said he was related to two of the victims. "If you have any information, just please come forward and share what you know, and please say a special prayer not only for my family but the people that did this," he said.

Police ask anyone who may have information regarding this incident to call Crime Stoppers at (209) 521-4636. Callers to Crime Stoppers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward.
