The Grant Napear Show - March 23, 2012

The Sacramento Kings lost a heartbreaker last night to the Utah Jazz courtesy of an Al Jefferson tip-in with less than a second to go. Despite the old saying that there are no moral victories, many of the fans (and Grant as well) shared the opinion that although it was a tough loss, it was also highly encouraging. The Kings had previously won three games in a row before the competitive loss at the hands of the Jazz and have recently shown lots of positive signs.

Tim Ryan of Fox Sports, Sirius XM, and San Francisco 49ers' preseason broadcasts joined to recap the NFL offseason to date -- including Peyton Manning's move to Denver, the Niners shacking up with Randy Moss, and whether Andrew Luck or Robert Griffin III is the top prospect in the upcoming NFL Draft.

Grant's Rant revolved around Red Sox reliever Bobby Jenks' recent foray into amateur pharmacology, womanizing, and hit-and-run accidents.

After fielding calls about muscle relaxers for the subsequent segment, Chuck Hayes of the Kings called in for his weekly segment. Hayes previewed Saturday's contest against the Golden State Warriors in Oakland and discussed the difference in the mood in the last week. During Chuck's last segment a week ago he was forced to answer to a pair of devastating blowout losses to the Warriors and Pistons, respectively. This time around, Chuck had to answer for a string of wins and competitive contests that have restored enthusiasm in the city regarding the Kings.

In the six o'clock hour, Andrew Bogut of the Golden State Warriors checked in to talk about the adjustments he's had to make as an injured player being traded to the Warriors from the Milwaukee Bucks. Bogut talks about his injuries, saying he's missed a lot of games the last few years but doesn't really think much about the label some people has given him as a player that's easily injured. He also discussed the expectations placed upon him as the only potentially dominant big man that the Warriors have had in decades.

Closing out the show, Grant fielded calls about the future of the Kings and how the roster could potentially develop over the next few years.
