Security Tight For Dodgers Opening Day

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Los Angeles police will be out in force for Tuesday's opening day game at Dodger Stadium.

The LAPD says in a statement that officers and the team have been working "for many months to create a plan to ensure a peaceful opening day."

Police say officers began patrolling the parks near the stadium on Monday night to make sure no park ordinances were violated, especially those related to alcohol.

Bryan Stow, a 42-year-old paramedic and father of two, was punched in the head, kicked and slammed to the ground after the opening day game last year at Dodger Stadium.

Two men have pleaded not guilty to charges of mayhem assault and battery in the attack.

The Dodgers take on the Pittsburgh Pirates Tuesday. The game begins at 1:10 p.m. PDT.
