Accident Snarls Morning Commute Near Sacramento International Airport

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – Some travelers likely arrived late for flights out of Sacramento International Airport after multiple vehicle accident caused a major backup during the morning commute on Interstate 5.

An accident was first reported around 5:00 Monday morning on northbound Interstate 5 at Airport Boulevard involving three cars.

Later, reports cited as many as six vehicles involved.

Traffic was backed up for about two miles  and the California Highway Patrol urged people heading to the airport allow extra time.

No injuries were reported.
