Elk Grove Condo Tenants Suing Paladin Security Over 'Raid'

ELK GROVE (CBS13) - It was 3 in the morning last April when, according to the lawsuit, armed Paladin Security guards knocked on their door and in a military-type raid armed men forced plaintiffs outside and forced them to stay in the cold for around 30 minutes in their underwear.

Paladin co-owner Matt Carroll calls the claims outlandish. Carroll says three security officers visited the condo after the homeowners association called them, fearing someone was living in a foreclosed home.

But in court documents the plaintiffs claim they were renting the home and had no knowledge of the foreclosure.

Still Carroll says their behavior left neighbors on edge.

"Everything from illegal parking to catcalling of females as they went to the mailboxes, men urinating off balconies in public," said Carroll.

The security company denies any wrongdoing during the visit to find out who was living in the home. They say the men identified themselves and allowed the guards inside.

"In fact, the contact ended with a handshake between the occupants and our people," said Carroll.

There's a much different picture painted by the plaintiffs, who claim not only were they harassed, threatened and labeled as criminals by security, but one man claims when he was allowed back into the condo, he discovered naked photos of his girlfriend and himself had been taken.
