Ripon Man Arrested For Possession Of Child Pornography

RIPON (CBS13) - A Ripon man had child pornography images openly displayed on his computer when detectives went to his apartment to serve a search warrant on Friday, according to police.

Ripon police detectives went to the apartment in the 100 block of E. Frontage Road at 7:45 a.m. to execute the warrant and saw the images while explaining their presence. Robert James Poeschl, 44, was immediately taken into custody and booked into the San Joaquin County Jail.

Ripon detectives had received information on Wednesday from the Sacramento Valley High-Tech Crimes Task Force that child pornographic images had been accessed and downloaded in Ripon.

Detectives initiated an investigation and Poeschl's personal and electronic information was obtained. A search warrant was secured regarding electronic communications and devices.

More evidence was seized at Poeschl's apartment, where he lived alone, police said.
