The Don Geronimo Show - May 9, 2012

Today, Don begins with Little Joe's bloody nose he got before the show this morning. Apparently Joe got one last night as well, and according to him, he gets them every year around this time, due to the change in seasons. Don and the other guys are pretty certain it's something else causing the nose bleeds. Don then tells us that in light of the "D.O.T." discussion yesterday, he will reopen the floor to all questions regarding the subject. Phantom, Craig, Little Joe, and even Slow Joe are happy to oblige, leading to numerous elaborate details that add only more disturbance and awkwardness. We then get a visit from comedian Larry The Cable Guy. Larry, who will be performing at the Dixon May Fair this Saturday, gets to also hear the "D.O.T." story from Don, before talking about his days as a radio guy, losing weight on Nutrisystem, running his material by his wife, and his biggest comedic influences. He also does an intro for Phantom News!

After Larry, Melissa Rauch from "The Big Bang Theory" stops by. Melissa, who Don is quite smitten for, tells about how she got the gig on "Big Bang," her relationship with the other cast members, being a regular on the show "Best Week Ever," and having a really tall boyfriend. She also does a Phantom News intro! The guys get back into the "D.O.T." conversation, leading to Don's crazy dad stories, including his dad's "Secret Government Job," the "Color TV" he bought, and moving to Germany for 6 months. Don then tells us about Terell Owens being on Dr. Phil yesterday, and the verbal onslaught he received from his ex wife, ex mother-in-law, and even Dr. Phil himself. It's then time for another "Sweet Brown" autotune song. Today's version is definitely the best yet.

After hearing a few clips, including Texas Ranger Josh Hamilton's 4 HR performance yesterday, and Ozzie Guillen's "F" bombs to a reporter, Don goes through a library of tapes he hasn't heard in forever, including those of Larry King, Saturday Night Live, and Talladega Nights. It's then time for the "Phantom News Hour." Today, Phantom gives us the TV ratings from the past week, tells us that the Beatles' recording career began on this day 50 years ago, and we learn that Andre 5,000 will be playing Jimi Hendrix in a new movie about the guitar god. And of course, Don wraps everything up with a caller 100!
