Call Kurtis: They Sent Too Many Orders and Won't Refund My Money!

Steve Segale went online to order two computer keyboards he saw on an infomercial, he said, but when he noticed weeks later he had been charged for six, it was time to call Kurtis.

Charged for keyboards he never ordered, Segale wanted his money back, he said.

"I'm on my computer all the time, I love it," said Shirley Segale, Steve's 83-year-old mother.

But Shirley said she has no need for six keyboards.

"It's just not right, that's for sure," she said.

Steve said he went onto the EZ Eyes keyboard website, thinking the bright yellow keyboards with big letters would be good for his parents.

"Are you constantly hitting the wrong keys by accident?" the infomercial begins. "Then you need EZ Eyes."

Steve punched in his credit card but left the site before confirming the order, he said, once realizing it was going to be too expensive with shipping and handling.

But a few weeks later, EZ Eyes charged him $131 for six keyboards.

"I was totally surprised to find so many packages on my porch," Shirley told CBS13.

The company said it would only refund the keyboards if Steve covered the shipping and handling and paid to send them back to the company, he said.

"For something that I didn't even purchase," Steve said.

"This is the classic problem," said the Better Business Bureau's Gary Almond. "You get more than what you ordered and the handling fees turn out to be a hefty profit."

Almond said the way to avoid a situation like this is to never enter a credit card number before getting a total price.

After we got involved EZ Eyes parent company Allstar Products told us "We will make sure [Steve] Is refunded in full, including return shipping, and apologize for the inconvenience."

But the company insisted "[Steve] may have made a mistake during the ordering process."

Shirley said she will keep enjoying the Internet, but without using an EZ Eyes keyboard.

"It was just so ridiculous to have this happen," she said.

CBS13 found on a number of other people on different websites saying they were overcharged on their orders from EZ Eyes.

Allstar Products would not comment on those customer issues and said it handles each one on a case-by-case basis.
