The Grant Napear Show - May 16, 2012

Birthday Boy Jason Ross (now a glamorous 40) was in the studio to take the place of Grant, who is away on vacation. Jason covered a little of everything, from the NBA playoffs to the NFL off-season and mid-season Major League Baseball.

Joe Rose, former Miami Dolphin and current Miami sports media personality, joined Jason to break down the Heat's playoff performance and talk about where they're headed with Chris Bosh being out due to injury. Jason and Joe also talked about where the Miami Dolphins are headed next season.

The Rant today was a replay of Grant's terrific tirade on Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's sense of entitlement towards the nonexistent statue of himself in front of Staples Center in Los Angeles. Then, as a tribute to the 40th anniversary of his birth, Jason replayed the epic rant of Oklahoma State football coach Mike Gundy in which Gundy defended the media scrutiny of one of his players by pleading with the press to attack him instead of the players because, "I'm a man! I'm forty!"

Oakland Raiders' draftee Miles Burris checked in with Jason to talk about his path to the NFL. Burris is a graduate of Granite Bay high school and played his college ball at San Diego State. Burris talked about his understanding of the Raiders' tradition as a local product as well as how the team's scheme has sunk in since starting with the team. Miles said he first started thinking the NFL was a realistic possibility when he was in college and started hearing his name flying around NFL circles.
