Man Decorates Lawn With Dozens Of Crosses To Remember Fallen
MODESTO (CBS13) - A Modesto man has covered his front lawn in crosses to honor local military men and women, as well as local law enforcement members.
About 70 crosses mark the lawn of a home on Woodland Avenue, symbolizing 70 men and women in Stanislaus County who gave the ultimate sacrifice.
Dan Joseph created the memorial and says the purpose of the display is to make sure these men and women are never forgotten.
"I hope by seeing this display people remember the true meaning of Memorial Day. And in my opinion, these are the Real American idols right here," said Joseph.
Joseph says as long as he's around, the display will be up every Memorial Day.
CBS13 was at another Memorial Day in Fair Oaks attended by hundreds of people.
