Air Force Nurse Gets Sparkling Surprise On Return Home

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – An Air Force nurse returned home after five months in Afghanistan to a sparkling surprise upon her arrival at Sacramento International Airport.

Micah Camarino was expecting to be greeted at the airport by her boyfriend, Chris Smith. And he was there along with cameras from CBS13.

As Micah got off the elevator, Chris got down on one knee.

"We can't be boyfriend and girlfriend anymore because I want you to be my wife," said Chris. "Will you marry me?"

Her answer, of course, was yes.

The two met at Travis Air Force Base and have been dating for two years.

Chris began planning the proposal months ago.

"Right before she left I got permission form her parents in October," Chris said. "So it's been planned for a while now."
