Coaster World 'Abuzz' About New Superman Ride In Vallejo

VALLEJO (CBS13) - A new Superman ride is nearly ready at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom in Vallejo.

Crews lifted a giant "S" into place Thursday on the 15-story Superman Ultimate Flight ride.

The ride will have the tallest inversion coaster west of the Mississippi and riders will go 62 miles per hour.

"The coaster world is abuzz about because the fact is there isn't anything like it in the world and this is the only place you can come ride a ride like this," Six Flags spokesperson Lee Munro.

Superman Ultimate Flight opens June 23.
