Vomiting In A Cab In Chicago Will Cost You

CHICAGO (CBS) — According to WBBM in Chicago, riders who vomit in a taxi cab will now have to pay for the cleanup.

Starting on July 1, riders will be hit with a $50 fee that drivers will use to clean up the mess.

Cab drivers have for years complained about having to clean up after passengers, most of whom vomit after consuming too much alcohol.

Before the change, cabbies could not ask for cleanup money, but were simply at the mercy of inebriated passengers to have the common sense, and courtesy, to offer to help with the cost.

Every rider, sober or otherwise, will also be paying an extra dollar per cab ride.

The flag pull increases from $2.25 to $3.25 and replaces the fuel surcharge, which was tied to fluctuating gasoline prices.
