Stockton Police Investigating City's 32nd Homicide This Year
STOCKTON (CBS13) – Stockton police are investigating the city's 32nd homicide this year after a fatal shooting on Tuesday.
Police were first called to Tiffany Street and 12th Street after getting reports of a shooting around 4 Tuesday afternoon.
Crews responded and found a 29-year-old man who had been shot. Paramedics revived the victim and transported him to the hospital, but he later died.
As police were investigating, an officer spotted a car leaving the area of the shooting and began pursuing it.
The chase ended when the suspect vehicle crashed at Greensboro Way and Cambridge Drive.
The driver, 25-year-old Yor Xiong, was taken into custody. Xiong is a documented gang member, according to Stockton Police Officer Joe Silva.
Police are still looking for one or more suspects.
