Small Quake Shake San Bernardino Mountains

BIG BEAR LAKE, Calif. (AP) — The U.S. Geological Survey says a small earthquake has occurred in the San Bernardino Mountains northeast of Big Bear Lake.

The 11:18 a.m. Thursday tremor had a preliminary magnitude of 3.5 and occurred at a depth of about 2 ½ miles.

The USGS says the epicenter was three miles north of Big Bear City and 82 miles east-northeast of Los Angeles.
