Fire Starts In Attic Of Carmichael Home

CARMICHAEL (CBS13) - A fire broke out in the attic of a Carmichael home on Thursday afternoon and quickly spread.

The fire at 5221 Valhalla Drive, off Winding Way near American River College, expanded to the rest of the home as Sacramento Metro firefighters worked to ventilate the home by cutting a hole in the roof.

No one appeared to be home when the fire broke out at about 1 p.m.

The cause of the fire wasn't immediately available, nor was a damage estimate. The home was built in 1956 and is 2,067 square feet on a half-acre lot, according to an online listing.
