Investigators Believe More Children Molested At In-Home Daycare

RIO VISTA (CBS13) - The case against a man accused of touching kids his wife was trusted to watch in her daycare is widening as investigators confirm there may be more alleged victims.

"I always thought he was a little strange," said a neighbor, who we will call Jane.

Don Elliot's neighbors are still trying to come to grips with the allegations that he molested two children at his wife's in-home daycare Lots of Tots in Rio Vista.

"I guess he's been here most of his life," said Jane.

Solano County sheriff's investigators say they've found enough evidence to put Elliot behind bars and they're saying they're looking into the possibility of additional victims.

"A lot of kids, even one police officer, she had her kids in the daycare there," said Jane.

A challenge for investigators will be finding all the children who went to the daycare.

Elliot's wife admitted to state the Health and Human Services agency last week that she failed to keep a record of every child who came through her door for the last three years.

No one at Elliot's home wanted to talk on camera.

"It's all fake; it's all stupid," said a neighborhood teen.

A sign at the front door showed the daycare was shut down by the state.

The investigation continues into allegations that may take them back 12 years to when Elliot's wife opened the daycare.

Although Jane is a bit surprised about the allegations, she says she's not surprised that neighbors are protection him.

"That's what people do in this town," said Jane.
