SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – A shooting in downtown Sacramento left one male dead early Saturday morning.
About 12:30 a.m., Sacramento police responded to reports of a shooting in a parking lot at 28th and J Streets.
Officers found Joseph Allen Long, 32, of Carmichael with a gunshot wound on scene. He was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Long was escorting two of his dance students to their cars when he was hit by a stray bullet from the gunfire.
Police are still searching for the suspects.
