Man Reportedly Hits Sacramento Officer In Head Before He's Subdued By Stun Gun

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - Police had to use a stun gun on a 26-year-old man after he reportedly punched an officer in the head.

Juan Diego, 26, was booked at the Sacramento County Jail on Thursday for felony assault on a police officer, a parole hold and a warrant for indecent exposure.

An officer contacted a suspicious suspect for loitering in a residential area at Riverside and Adian avenues at about 4:23 a.m.

Diego almost immediately began to challenge the officer, police said, punching the officer in the head. The officer deployed his baton and called for assistance.

As additional officers arrived on scene, Diego was still combative, police said. The second responding officer deployed his stun gun and Diego was taken into custody.

He's being held without bail and is scheduled to make a court appearance Monday.
