LATHROP (CBS13) - A drive-by shooting triggered a high-speed chase through San Joaquin County on Friday morning before the suspect vehicle crashed and two men were arrested on multiple felony charges.

The San Joaquin County Sheriff's Office received a call of shots fired into a residence in the 3100 block of W. Yosemite in Lathrop at about 8 a.m. Responding deputies spotted the suspect vehicle, a red pick-up truck, in the area and attempted to stop it, and that's when the pursuit began.

The truck hit speeds as high as 100 mph in the area of Interstate 5 and Downing when deputies called off their pursuit because of safety concerns, but the California Highway Patrol picked it up after spotting the truck nearby.

The pursuit then went through various areas of Stockton, Lathrop and Manteca, where the truck crashed into a car after running a red light. The driver was immediately taken into custody and the passenger was located a short time later on the roof of an apartment building and arrested.

The suspects were identified as Sukhbir Singh, 32, and Murri Mitchell, 40.

No one was injured in the incident.

A firearm was not recovered, but the suspects were reportedly seen throwing what appeared to be ammunition and other objects out the window of the truck during the chase. Deputies were searching the area for that evidence. They also recovered stolen property in the truck linked to a burglary in Manteca.

Singh and Mitchell were booked into the San Joaquin County Jail.
