Stockton Completes 2nd Violence Suppression Mission

STOCKTON (CBS13) - With the rise in violent crimes, the Stockton Police Department completed another two-day, multi-agency violence suppression mission.

This is the second two-day mission the police department has launched, the first was held on May 11 and 12.

"This multi-agency violence suppression mission is a result of the ongoing efforts of the Stockton Police Department to combat gun and gang violence in the city of Stockton. We are committed to taking our streets back from the criminal street gangs and return an acceptable level of quality of life to the citizens of our city," said Police Chief Eric Jones.

During the two-day mission, 70 arrests were made; 13 firearms were confiscated; and numerous narcotics, including marijuana, meth and heroin.

More missions are planed for the future.
