The Grant Napear Show - August 31, 2012

Grant began the show with a little San Francisco 49ers' blasphemy, by reading the New England Patriots' owner's comments that Tom Brady is better than Joe Montana. This topic generated a ton of calls.

Joe Davidson of the Sacramento Bee came on the show to talk about prep football games in Sacramento.

Davidson spoke about several great games taking place tonight: Nevada Union at Grant, San Ramon Valley at Folsom, Placer at Central Catholic and Elk Grove at Beyer.

Davidson also spoke on injuries and the possibility of steroids in high school sports.

Ray Fosse, color commentator for the Oakland A's, joined Grant to talk about the team's surprising success this year.

Fosse talked about the team's confidence and resiliency right now, the players' willingness to contribute when called upon, the team's handling of the playoff race pressure and pleaded for A's fans to show up to games regardless of what team the A's are playing.

College football analyst Charles Davis was on with Grant as the college season kicked off today.

Davis talked about marquee college matchups this weekend, the upcoming Hawai'i at USC game, Matt Barkley's school schedule, the upcoming Michigan and Alabama game at Cowboys Stadium and some NFL football.
