SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – A Sacramento police officer says he was forced to shoot a pit bull on Monday morning.

The officers were responding to a domestic violence call in the 1200 block of Grand Avenue at 6:46 a.m. when the two dogs charged. One dog cornered the officer, forcing him to shoot the dog multiple times.

The dog was injured but not killed.
