The Don Geronimo Show - September 6, 2012

Don begins the day by expressing his love for the NFL, now that the season is underway, and tells us what deals he would make with God to have the NFL season year round. We then see a video of a woman who fell asleep on her scooter and hit a truck, and some idiot fishermen who try to catch fish with grenades. We also hear about Don's new beef with the Home Owners Association, and a few of his stories about former Baltimore Ravens owner Art Modell, who passed yesterday at the age of 87.

After discussing Bill Clinton's speech at the Democratic National Convention last night, we get a visit from Chum Lee from "Pawn Stars." Chum, who is appearing at the Renegade Rendezvous Bike Show in Dixon, talks with the guys about being the most liked member of the show, how much of their job actually ends up on TV, and getting recognized in public. He also does an intro for Phantom News! After Chum, Don reads a list of the most valuable NFL teams, and tells us about a mariachi band that was force to stop playing during a burial service in Stockton, because a military burial was going on nearby.

After Craig gives us a few of his best "uuuuh's," and we hear a clip of Red Sox manager Bobby Valentine flipping out on a DJ, Mike Pereira from FOX NFL stops by. Mike gives us his take on the replacement referees, when he thinks the real refs will return, and the ongoing dispute between them and the NFL. We then hear a mash up of Craig's "uuuuh's," and Steve even plays guitar to it! Don then tells us the KHTK VW Beetle is for sale, and calls Leslie at the Commerce offices to ask the details, and decides he wants to have the car to give away to a lucky listener.

It's then time for the "Phantom News Hour." Among the stories today: Ice Cube will perform before this weekend's Raider game, and Gene Simmons will perform the National Anthem, the "Live with Kelly and Michael" debut had a 44% boost in ratings, Green Day will perform at the VMA's, and the "World's Best Fried Foods." And of course, Don wraps everything up with a caller 100!
