Hayward Police Shoot, Kill Bar Shooting Suspect
HAYWARD (CBS SF) — Hayward Police officers shot and killed a shooting suspect early Monday morning, according to police.
At 12:56 a.m., police received reports of a shooting at the Dirty Bird bar at 29308 Tennyson Road, and that a suspect had fled the scene in what was described as a dark Buick or Cadillac.
Officers responding to the area located a similar vehicle on west bound Tennyson Road, west of Mission Boulevard, and initiated contact with the driver.
The driver reversed his vehicle toward officers, who then shot the suspect.
The suspect died.
Witnesses said the suspect was involved in an altercation at the Dirty Bird that left one person with non-life threatening injuries.
No officers were injured in the shooting.
Three officers were placed on administrative leave pending an investigation.
